Build Grow Live Wrap

A HUGE THANK YOU to all attendees, site owners, volunteers, stall holders, presenters, sponsors and raffle donors for making Build Grow Live a great day! The open homes proved very popular with well over 200 visits across the 5 sites, where aspiring home builders were able to pick up great tips from the owners, builders and other experts.  Danawa Garden looked amazing with garden beds decked out with flags and folk perusing the stalls, listening to our fabulous presenters and wonderful music whilst enjoying the delicious treats on offer. We look forward to a rockin’ 2016 BGL in the future and welcome anyone inspired by the theme to join us in planning the next one.

To continue your journey to a more sustainable home don’t forget to come along to the next Surf Coast Green Drinks on Thursday November 19, Patagonia 6pm where we’ll explore the theme further with local experts. More information on our website.

Waves 2 Woods

Waves 2 Woods is a live music and environmental festival in Anglesea on 21 November 1pm – 8.30pm. Join us for a cracking day out with good mates for some top shelf acts, inspiring eco legends – including our very own Aaron Lewtas, craft beer, local wine, kids activities and more.
Waves 2 Woods is a social enterprise and all proceeds go environmental and social projects run by YGAP, Friends of the Earth, Head Space and Surf Coast Energy Group.

Act on Climate Festival

This year, between 20th and 23rd November, Geelong is hosting a community festival to empower people with ways they can act on climate change. The event will showcase positive solutions that encourage our community to Act on Climate and help build a better, safer, future for all.
The festival is an initiative of Geelong Sustainability and is supported by local government, business and community.
The keynote address is on Friday 20 7pm at Symonds stadium with prominent experts in the fields of climate change, renewable energy, and economics. Saturday sees the Act on Climate Festival at Eastern Beach Market Day at Steampacket Gardens. On Sunday join the Act on Climate team in Run Geelong, then on Monday watch the film This Changes Everything – at Courthouse Youth Arts.

ATA Survey on Consumer Gas Preferences

ATA is undertaking a survey to collect information about consumer gas preferences – to help with their energy consumer advocacy, as well as that of other consumer advocates.
They would appreciate it if you had 10-15 minutes to complete the survey – and particularly if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are an adult living in Australia;
  • Your home is connected to mains gas; or you are considering connecting to mains gas; or you currently use bottled gas (LPG);
  • You are aware of your household’s energy bills to some extent, and have some say over your household’s choice of appliances.

To complete the survey, please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LPLZKF5
For any queries, please contact Kate (Kate.Leslie@ata.org.au) or Damien (Damien.Moyse@ata.org.au) at the ATA.
Thanks for supporting the ATA in their energy advocacy work!
